Pastor Marvin started at Fellowship Church in November of 2003. Before being our Pastor, he was a minister at Riverdale Baptist, ministering in several positions from Awana leader, marriage class teacher, Sunday School teacher, and College and Career leader. Pastor Herb Fitzpatrick was a great encourager and mentor. Pastor Marvin has always had a burden for souls and especially the singles. As a result, he started a singles weekly Bible study in his home in 1984. Sound Bible teaching and fellowship was the foundation of its growth and its quickly grew to over 100 singles from 18 to 80 years of age. Many precious souls came to know the Lord and serve him. Several of them are in full-time ministry to this day.
Pastor and his wife, Dona Harris, reside in King Geroge, Va. They have 3 grown married children and 12 grandchildren. They are privileged to spend time with their family. Pastor and his wife came to know the Lord as a result of their second son's death through heart disease. John 3:16 encouraged their hearts, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever, believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." The Harris' have three sons, a daughter, and grandchild in Heaven with Jesus now and believing in God's promises. They look forward to the day when they will be reunited. Pastor's goal when coming to Fellowships Church remains "I want to tell people about Jesus, I want to see lives transformed and my life goals are to invest in people."
